USA Covid Test Positivity Rates by State – 24Jun20

Below is a table to show the test positivity rate for the states of the USA as of 24th June 2020. The number of tests is given as a 7-day rolling average (to smooth out weekend reporting delays), and the percentage shown is the percentage of tests administered in each state which returned a positive result.

The table is sorted in descending order of test positivity and shows the 20 states which are doing the worst by this metric.

Test positivity is an indicator of how many covid positive people are not being tested and therefore of how the published case numbers could be far short of the true number of cases in society.

Anything above 5% is “bad”. Testing must be increased to catch and isolate as many cases as possible to bring down test positivity and slow down the spread of coronavirus.
